    ANALYSING TWO ADVERTS

These are two different types of perfume adverts. The first one is a men’s perfume POLO. And the second one is J’ADORE produced by DIOR.

The first advert has a facial strong looking face as he is representing as a bold and strong looking man. He is using a direct mode of addressing the audience. The second advert is showing a sexual appearance for this product to make people (girls) interested in buying this product. This advert is also using a direct mode of address. She looks as if she wants to remove all her clothing because of applying this perfume.
The first advert is a male stereotype and the other advert is a female stereotype.
In the first picture he is sitting in a chair in the middle of the sea because it has a blue colour background which matches with the perfume. He keeps one hand on in knees, pulling the shirt outward, and with his other hand leaning on the chair. The second picture she is standing with one hand holding her earrings and the other in the middle of her costume.
The costume of the first advert is in a blue colour as it is matches the colour of the product. The second advert is wearing a black dress matching to the background.
The setting in the first picture is in the middle of the sea as it matches with the product colour. The second picture is in a flat/house with a building behind her.
I think that in the first advert have no lighting or extra colours. The background looks natural. In the second picture the lighting is mainly focused on the model. The lighting is in gold/black colour which matches with the product.
The product is at the bottom right of both the pictures. Both are of small sizes. There is no special shape in the POLO product as all the perfumes from POLO are of the same shape. But the product J’ADORE looks like a shape of a women’s body (from head to waste) as this product is for women.
The target audience for the first product is all people who like to be glamorous and privileged. This can also be attracted to men who like to ride horses and those like to play POLO as the adverts main design is a man playing polo. It is also said by Psychographics that this product aspires people to be respected, admired, wealthy and worldly. This is said from the book World Famous: How to Give Your Business a Kick-Ass Brand Identity by David Tyreman. The target audience for my second project will is any women who has an extra ordinarily mixture of romanticism, feminism and modernity   as it built its fame on Women’s Fashions.
